Surely there is a difference between whether a body is present, or whether
it has presence in a performance. We've all seen performances with video,
or with virtual "presence" that don't work primarily because of the
weakness of the "presence" in the space. There are aesthetic and technical
issues here that probably need far more attention that they often receive.

Once could also ask whether the audience/viewer/receiver needs to be
"present" for the performance take place.
