Dear Dance-Tech,

Hello. I am new to the list and would like to introduce myself. I am the
editor of DANCE Technique Newsletter and am fascinated with where the
future for dance and the computer is leading. I publish a monthly
newsletter dealing with dance technique for all dance disciplines. I
joined this group after posting a question on alt.arts.ballet in regards
to how the computer is being used with dance. The responses I received
suggested I join this group and see what's happening.

I came in on the middle of your discussion regarding publishing parts of
the conversations, do I have that right? I just want to reassure you
that I have no intentions of doing that. I would like to do email
interviews with any of you who wish as I am doing a series in my
newsletter on dance technique and the computer-- how it can help, where
is it going, etc. If anyone would like to talk to me about their
projects, how it can affect dance, or how this list.serve got started
please email me at dancepub@gte.net

In regards to this performance online tonight, I would be happy to do an
article on how it came about, include opinions of those that watched it,
how it was put together, etc. Again just email me and let me know.

One thing I would like someone to tell me ---- how is that ballet is not
as involved in dance and computers as modern is? The obvious reason is
in restaging the classics computers would not be needed or wanted I
suppose, but for ballet to advance it must accept new technology. How do
you think computers can be applied to ballet?

Is there anyone out there doing a project on dance technique and the
computer? How could something like this benefit teachers in dance
schools? Any thoughts on this? If so, please let me know. Thanks.
