The future looks brighter with ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Method), a
topology using switches that establish a circuit from input to output
port and maintain that connection for the duration of the transmission.
The battle goes on as we speak between the 'Netheads' (packet switching)
and the 'Bellheads' (ATM).
