I am very interested in this phenomenon (music produced by dancers,
heard), as my company recently released our first CD/CD-ROM of a dance
concert. I am not sure whether it works at all, as a music CD, or as a
CD ROM with digital video tracks and photography. It gives the viewer a
glimpse of the compositions. It gives the listener a hearing of the
music and the words spoken and the rhythms of the modules, but I doubt
it will be listened to as dance.
How could it, how does the listener listen to dance?
Or how would a general public bother/think through the compositions of
the dance as sound modules, or sound movement? The pace of the hearing
is not the pace of the visual experience of listening, which is more
complex, different, faster.
any thoughts on this?
