**Dancing with the Mouse: Format for the Future** October 7-10, 1999
An international conference dedicated to the practitioners who want to
enhance their skills in combining dance technology and dance education.
We encourage anyone who teaches even small portions of dance to
register. This conference has been planned to include hands on work with
software specially related to dance and dance teaching using two 24
station MAC and IBM computer labs. While the focus is to "connect us
technologically," other exciting studio sessions and panels will provide
balance to each day.
PROGRAM:
PRE-CONFERENCE Sessions Thursday, October 7, 1999
1. All day visit to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to observe dance
and to visit with the dance teacher(s). Special Fee for transportation;
Buy your own lunch. $30.00 (for transportation and van rental)
2. 2:00-5:00 p.m. In Depth Dance Technology: Hands on-software related
to dance (must have general experience with a computer). $30.00

*TRANSPORTATION:
All Flights should be booked into Charlotte-Douglas International
Airport, Charlotte, NC. (For those who have their own planes, there is
an appropriate airport in Rock Hill, SC)
Ground Transportation:
The conference will be able to provide only extremely limited shuttle
service for which there will be a special fee. There is no PUBLIC
transit system from Charlotte to Rock Hill. The conference site is 25
miles from the airport. You are *strongly urged* to plan for a car
rental for this conference. This will enable you to come and go from
housing to Winthrop with ease, and will permit maximum flexibility in
planning your flight arrival and departure times.
Link up with friends as you plan your travel times, pool your resources,
and ride together to and from Charlotte. (Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar,
etc. all have shuttle service to their lots from the airport.) You can
access I-77 easily from the airport, and come straight south to Rock
Hill.
**Please make your rental arrangements and confirmation prior to arrival
in Charlotte, due to the Lowe's (Charlotte) Motor Speedway major race
weekend and the new Mel Gibson movie which is shooting in the area.**
