TOWSON UNIVERSITY
Position: Entry-level tenure-track position in Dance Performance beginning August 2000. Department of Dance
Contract: Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications
Qualifications: Terminal degree and evidence of successful teaching in dance required. Professional performing and /or directing experience also required.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include all levels of ballet
and pointe technique, repertory, and direction of student dance company.
Advising of students and committee work is required. Competence in application
of technologies to classroom instruction and/or teaching dance composition
is preferred. Familiarities with jazz dance, modern technique, dance history,
LMA or dance education also desirable.
Special
Requirements: Applicants brought to campus for an interview will be
expected to teach an advanced ballet/pointe class (es). Applicants should
be available for interview between March 6th and April 18th, 2000.
A short list of candidates will be required to submit a 15min VHS video
of previous related experience.

Position: Associate Level tenure-track position in Dance Performance and Education beginning August 2000. Department of Dance

Qualifications: Terminal degree, evidence of K-12 dance education administration, supervising student teachers, and ability to teach at a graduate level required.
Responsibilities: Administration of teacher certification in dance,
supervising student teachers, and teaching Dance Education and Public Policy
and Methods of Teaching Dance. Advising of students and committee work
is required. Competence in application of technologies to classroom instruction
and/or teaching dance composition is preferred. Familiarities with jazz
dance, ballet and/or modern technique, dance history, or LMA also desirable.
