If there are people out there who can take one solid idea and bring it to
fruition without it being changed by performers, media, performance space,
etc, then I wish they'd share their secret. Or maybe not; I've found that
some of the best parts of my work have grown out of the elements involved.

True, but I must admit I enjoy the rush (usually after it's over). I
wouldn't worry about it, Jane. Creation is a process, not an event. If
you're open to recieving and acting on input from your performers, in my
book that makes you a better artist, who is learning the fine, elusive art
of collaboration.

"If you are going to be the one to take that tightrope walk,
And if you are going to be the one to make the gossips talk,
And if you are to be the one who always takes a chance,
Then if you are going to cross thin ice, then do it in a dance"
