For those in the Los Angeles area, we are doing a production including The
E-Mail Dances as well as 5 dances by tap choreographer Alfred Desio. The
E-Mail Dances is a 45-50 minute work that uses video, computer technology,
and slides. And dance and narrative. The subject is how the death of the
author's father propelled her into a search for unknown relatives via the
world wide web, and how woven into it is the disappearance of so many Jews
during the holocost. The slides were developed from scans or delivered
cross country by the Net. The piece, first premiered in 1996, is now in its
5th version, although the official title is V. 2.0. Also on the program is
the electronic technology invented and developed by Alfred Desio called
Tap-Tronics(tm). The calendar listing is below. For those who might want
more info, I will post a longer press release seperatly.
