Hi Robert,
I don't know exactly where Merce Cunningham + Paul Keizer's 'Handrawn
Spaces' are going to be presented, but sometime soon they will be at Ohio
State University for some months.
I had the opportunity to atend a demonstration of this project at the
occasion of Cunningham's company performances at UCBerkeley last March.
They work with the 3D program "character studio"+ motion capture.
The potential seemed incredible, but in my opinion, with Cunningham's
technique it gets too dry, looking at some virtual drawn dancers (almost
balletic bodies) moving mostly abstractly in a void virtual space.
Anyway maybe it will go differently, since this was just simple
experiments and demonstration of the possibilities. I heard that Bill T.
Jones and W. Forsythe are also experimenting this program.
